SYMBOLISM AND THE EVOLUTION OF A LOGO

Amy Muzopappa

We are proud to announce the launch of a new logo update, as part of the ongoing evolution of our organization. In the upcoming months, you will be seeing more of the new logo. It reflects “something old and something new.”

The old logo, symbolized by the classic hex sign, reflects the Pennsylvania Dutch heritage of the area. The triple star motif represents good luck, success and happiness. It is comprised of 3 nautical 5-point stars that are layered and rotated to reveal all points of all stars. The Circle around the stars represents the circle of life, with the combination of both interpreted as “lifetime of good fortune.” This remains an important part of our identity, as a business leadership organization.

The bear is a long-revered mascot of the Boyertown area, as evidenced by their presence all over the 100 square miles that is the Boyertown Area School District. It is symbolic of strength and leadership.

The bear representing the community, embracing the traditional logo that symbolizes good fortune in business, portrays the evolution of the organization into a business organization that is also very community focused. In keeping with the logo update, we’ve also added a motto of: “Connecting Community & Commerce.”
